Alarm Lady Bulletin #20 SPECIAL SECURITY ALERT ! ! ! PLEASE test your alarm system! The preferred procedure is as follows:
Here's what happened. Burglars used a pipe wrench to open a solid metal door that had deadbolt locks. The alarm sounded BUT the alarm system control panel had been "taxed" by age or unknown power surges. Therefore, the power supply was not strong enough to DRIVE the sounders as well as transmit the alarm data; therefore, the alarm signal transmission was not received by our General Alarm Central Station for dispatching purposes. IF the customer had TESTED their alarm system (as noted above), they would have known that the alarm system was not operating properly and together, we could have taken steps to prevent a loss from occurring. I encourage you to start the New Year with the knowledge that your alarm system is working properly to protect you, your family and your property. If you have ANY questions, please contact me or one of my experienced staff members at 317-925-8915 or 800-878-7917 or email me at alarmlady@genalarm.com. |
