Alarm Lady Bulletin #14 Following, you will find a few tips that can add to your overall safety and security! Please feel free to forward these to your friends and family. USE THAT CELL PHONE CAMERA! We're all had those concerns about someone snatching our kids (or grandkids) when we're in busy public places. I recently heard of a GREAT tip about this. Upon arrival to that ball game, or fair, etc., take pictures of the kids with your cell phone. Make sure to take a close up picture, but also take a full body photo so to even identify what kind of shoe's are being worn. DO NOT CALL ME ON MY CELL PHONE! If you do not want to receive solicitation calls that COULD COST YOU MONEY you should contact the National Do Not Call Center FROM YOUR CELL PHONE at: 1-888-382-1222 or register your number at www.donotcall.gov. Your number will be registered for five years. HAVE THOSE SMOKE DETECTORS CLEANED BEFORE FALL WEATHER ARRIVES! In the summer months, spiders like to get into your smoke detectors and build webs. The problem is that these webs can cause a "light obscuration" to the photocell light that detects smoke. Therefore, the sensitivity of the smoke detector is changed and could actually cause a false alarm. Contact Linda Smallwood, Service Manager at 317-925-8915 x 112 or lsmallwood@genalarm.com to get on the service schedule! TAKEOVERS! You may have a friend or family member that has an alarm system by a provider other than General Alarm, Inc. (gasp!) Due to our multi-year experienced installation and service staff, we can almost always take over other alarm systems and provide the same excellent services that General Alarm customers enjoy. Contact Rhett Cochran at 317-925-8915 x 104 or rcochran@genalarm.com for further details. QUESTIONS? If you have any questions about the operation of your alarm system, or if you'd like to make any changes to your system please let us know how we can assist you! Thank you for your patronage to General Alarm, Inc., Indiana's 40-year old security provider par excellence! |
