Alarm Lady Bulletin - 05

Reduce the Cost of Insurance by Reducing Your Risk!

Welcome! I hope this e-letter finds you safe and secure!

TODAY’S TIP!
Reduce the cost of insurance by reducing your risk!

Like you, insurance is one of those HUGE expenses that seem to continue to escalate for us. Fortunately, our customers receive annual premium discounts due to the excellence of our installations, service and monitoring as well as thorough coverage. However, I was recently given a copy of some material from Chubb Insurance that I wish to share with you that may help you further control your risks and hence your costs.

“Water leak detection and control system having a UL Master Label. The system must monitor all areas containing plumbing devices and outlets. In the event of a leak, this system must:
  • Close the master plumbing valve OR
  • Close the master plumbing valve and activate a central station or direct alarm.”
General Alarm installs and monitors “water bugs” but your plumber will need to take care of shutting off the master plumbing valve.

“Contents actual cash value credit. This is a 9% credit if the replacement cost on contents is removed and actual cash value is the payment basis for contents.”

“Gated community credit.

If your house is located in a gated community meeting the following criteria:
  • Vehicle access is limited to entrances controlled by locked gates or guards
  • Proper identification is required to enter
  • Visitors are announced”
General Alarm installs camera surveillance at gates as well as visitor identification intercom systems.

“Security protection for the entire external perimeter of the house consisting of any one or more of the following:
  • Closed circuit TV cameras monitored 24 hours a day
  • Detection system, external to the residence, which is motion activated and monitored 24 hours per day
  • 24-hour on site security guard”
General Alarm installs camera surveillance that may be digitally recorded 24/7.
“24-hour signal continuity protection for central station”

General Alarm installs back-up cellular communication in the event of loss of landlines.
“Temperature monitoring system to protect against freezing, which activates a central station alarm.”

General Alarm installs and monitors “freeze” or low temperature alarms.
“Permanently installed, electrical power back-up generator capable of servicing heat, light, alarm, and sprinkler systems.”

General Alarm has an alliance with an electrician “Harvest Protection” at 317-745-5672 who can take care of this PLUS install surge protection!

If you are a long time customer with General and have not had your fire detection system or burglar alarm system UPGRADED in the last five (5) years, your insurance company may require some changes. Of course, we’ll be happy to answer any questions or provide suggestions.

We hope this Bulletin helps you achieve better rates for your insurance coverage. If any of the terrific staff at General Alarm may be of assistance, PLEASE, let us know!

With your security in mind, I am,
